APPLE CHUTNEY

Ingredients

  • 1Kg green apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 15g garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4 cups malt vinegar
  • 450g dates, pieced
  • 1oog ginger, chopped
  • 450g raisins
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp Leena Chutney Spice

Method

  • In a saucepan add apple, garlic and vinegar
  • Bring to boil and boil further for 10 minutes
  • Add dates, ginger, chutney spice, raisins, sugar, pepper and salt
  • Cook on low heat for 45 minutes or until the chutney is thick and tender
  • Serve with food
